Word Power
I was recently interviewed on a radio show where they played popular songs specifically chosen for their positive messages between segments. When I wrote my book, "Wishing," my guides revealed that each written word carried a precise vibration. They told me that bringing together certain words in a sentence could create the perfect instrument for healing and that sometimes people just needed to read a fragment of a sentence in order to receive the vibrational energy they lacked. This means that consciously you might pick up a book to decide whether or not to buy it, but subconsciously you may have been attracted to it because the words you are inspired to read are exactly what you need in that moment.
Songs can act like an affirmation, especially the chorus. As adults we are affected by positive and negative language. If someone says something nice to you or compliments you in some way then it can have a profound impact on the rest of your day. Negative words make the same impression, only they cause sad, depressed or unhappy feelings, and often for longer than a day.
I use an insightful exercise outlined in my book to demonstrate the power of positive versus negative thinking. I ask one of my students to think of something that creates a positive feeling in the body. Using a method of muscle testing called Kinesiology, I invite the volunteer to raise his or her non-dominant or weakest arm and to resist when I press down on the arm. The arm usually remains strong with little or no movement. Next the student thinks of something negative this time raising the strongest arm. The effect is immediate resulting in little resistance as the arm moves downward. The point of the exercise is to reveal the instantaneous impact of positive versus negative thoughts and feelings on the body.
Understanding the vibration of words is particularly important for pregnant mothers. Unborn babies can hear at approximately 20 weeks of pregnancy. Studies have shown that music can affect and create memories for the baby while in-utero. As human beings we are made of 70% water. Amniotic fluid also contains mostly water. Recent images of frozen water molecules captured by Dr Masaru Emoto reveal how positive and negative words affect the shape of the water molecules. Positive words form beautiful structures, while negative ones create distorted images. With this in mind it would stand to reason then that words influence the unborn child during the growth period. For a pregnant mother the unborn child is an extension of her and subject to an array of experiences and feelings encountered by the mother. Imagine for a moment that if positive and negative energy affects an adult so intensely, then what would be the impact on the child she carries?
Athletes recognize the power of positive words on their performance. It is not just about the support a positive word or two can bring, but rather the vibration each words carries. Compare the feelings that arise when you say, “I love myself,” as opposed to, “I hate myself.” Get a sense of the effect these two phrases have on your body including your emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
Here are some tips for inviting positive word energy in your life:
1. Choose to watch television shows with a positive message, especially before retiring to sleep.
2. Only read books, newspaper and magazine articles with a positive slant.
3. Listen to uplifting songs rather than ones with a depressing message. If you hear a song over and over again it will sink into your subconscious. Listening to one song on the radio isn’t going to affect you, it’s the repeated songs that influence energy.
4. Bless your meals. This creates a higher vibrational energy within the food and drink you ingest.
5. Be conscious of how it feels to be around negative people. You absorb energy all the time and listening to someone who is negative will affect you on a deep level.
6. Use affirmations. An affirmation is a positive statement made in present time.
