Wishing For Your Soul Mate
A soulmate is part of a family of souls. Some souls choose to remain in spirit while others choose to incarnate on earth at the same time. Occasionally, we meet one of our soul-family as a friend, lover, workmate, teacher or member of our immediate family, such as a parent. The encounter is always a profound and deeply moving experience. A soulmate often appears in your life to let you know that you are heading in the right direction. Frequently this meeting involves a lesson that only one who has the key to your heart can share with you.
Attracting a soulmate starts with deciding what kind of relationship you want and why. In my book, Wishing: How to Fulfill Your Heart’s Desires, I outline a recipe for how to wish for a relationship. At various times in my life I have wished for a partner. The last time I made this wish I met my husband. The soulmate wish recipe I am about to share with you, workslike a charm!
First, prepare the way for your wish by constructing a wish list, a blueprint for a potential relationship. Essentially, you are organizing your relationship priorities by describing in detail your ideal partner and the kind of relationship you would like. Include in your list everything you desire in a partner: looks, body type, personality, career, hobbies, dress-code, emotional state, romantic outlook, living situation, religion, beliefs, and so on. It is important not to specify a particular person; however, you can include qualities you admire in someone you know. Do remember to add the most important quality for your list—available.
The secret to this list is to write down what you want, not what you do not want. Use positive words. Anything negative will be regarded as an ingredient. For instance, if you were writing a chocolate chip cookie recipe you wouldn’t say "don’t add carrots!" The universe doesn’t understand “Don’t” and so you will probably end up with chocolate chip and carrot cookies.
As soon as you have finished, scan your list and place the qualities of your potential partner in order of preference. If looks come first, write this in the number one spot, if career is second write this in the number two slot, and so on, until all of the qualities have been arranged accordingly.
Then, circle the words in your soulmate wish list that best describe you. When you have done this, arrange your qualities in order—the same as you did for the soulmate priorities. Now, take your soulmate priority list and reflect on what you would bring to the relationship by comparing it to your own list of qualities. For instance, if you have placed looks in position one, are your looks on a par with what you desire in a partner? In other words, have you put your own looks at number one? It is important to remember that you will attract to you whatever you believe about yourself at a deep level. If you think you are attractive but really believe you are unappealing, then this is the energy you communicate to the rest of the world. This energy is picked up by a potential partner who subsequently acts out a role which reflects your belief, albeit unconsciously.
Once you are satisfied with your soulmate list, write a spell, an invocation to magnetize your wish. This is essentially an affirmation to help support and manifest your heart’s desire. Create a catchy statement using positive and inspiring words. Include the soulmate qualities that you wish to attract, but be wary of including qualities that you do not embrace within yourself. Start the wish-spell with “My soulmate is….” Then finish your affirmation by expressing your thanks.
Next, create the space to spell your wish. Take a pink candle, representing the joining of your heart with the heart of your soulmate, hold it in your hands and send it your love. Ask it to represent your heart and that once lit will ignite your message. Send it to your soulmate, and let him or her know that you are open to receive love. To make this extra special, coat the candle with rose or ylang ylang oil.
Once you have prepared the candle, place it in front of you, light it, and recite your wish spell out loud three times; three is the number of Jupiter, the planet of abundance. As you spell, open your arms as if greeting your soulmate. Using your hands draw the energy toward you and into your heart in sweeping movements as if you are pulling the light of the candle into the center of your being. When you have finished reciting your spell, sit briefly in meditation to accept the manifestation of your wish in energy form. Finally, give gratitude to the candle for sharing its light and then carefully extinguish the flame.
There is one final ingredient. You have made your wish and accepted it into your heart in energy form. Now, let go!
